Unforgivable: A Reality Few See

As a Christian I use to think there was nothing I could do to make someone not forgive me. Currently in 2026 I have learned that’s not true. There are things we can do or say that God or other people will just never forgive. And that’s the honest truth. From an individual perspective, we ourselves should know that unlike God, we have a very short list of things we are willing to forgive, everything is unforgivable. Jesus himself said if you speak against the Holy Spirit it is unforgivable, The rejection of Jesus Christ.

What are we to do with mountain of a problem? First I would like to start with prayer. The first that comes to mind is Proverbs 30, where the writer prays for God to control himself. Unfortunately we will encounter things that just offend family, friends, and strangers. But nevertheless we are still required to offer forgiveness to people even when the relationship is “irreparable.” Emotionally, this is where forgiveness and letting things go intersect. God knows that things happen because of the lesson being taught not necessarily the actions behind the scenes.

I have had to let go of things you just can’t change. People move on, and adapt really well. Adaptation to our new present reality when we hurt someone is important when running this race to Heaven. God wants our undivided attention and could be a reason of the split between certain relationships. It hurts, but God heals. We need to let the great physician, Jesus, repair or properly throw away what can or can’t be saved. As far as rejecting Jesus, for the time being we need to share that aside from rejection of Jesus, all manner of sin and blasphemy can be forgiven, by God. If your offense is with people, let go and let God fight your battles of repair.
